Our weekly service takes place every Sunday afternoon in the “turret” ("Port Royal" meeting room on the 2nd floor) at the Chateau Moncton starting at 2:00pm (it ends somewhere between 3:30-4:00pm). It is a very casual atmosphere (people dress down, there’s drinks at the back) and there are no “rules” – so, if you aren’t used to “church” you don’t have to stress out about doing something wrong. On a typical night we start with a brief welcome/announcement time, have a worship section (this tends to be “arts” focused and could be something like music, a video presentations, or prayerful reflection), have someone share something about their personal story, discuss a short open-ended question (i.e. “who is someone you trust?”), have an interactive talk (often using a powerpoint presentation), and finish with a brief time for personal reflection on the afternoon. There is no pressure to do or not do anything and because people are interacting at many levels you won’t stand out. We should warn you: although it’s causal, most people walk away feeling like they have encountered God – this can be kind of freaky...but also pretty cool.
